Reveille Café is a proud supporter of its local communities, holding fundraising drives throughout the yearwith money donated by customers and oftentimes matched by the restaurant, or by donation when a featured menu item is ordered. Each season brings a different cause:
In 2013, Reveille Café raised money with $1 of each Sweet Potato Pancakes order being donated to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) annual Light the Night Walk. LLS provides patient support services, advocacy for lifesaving treatments and the most promising cancer research anywhere.
About Light the Night: Friends, families and co-workers form fundraising teams, and millions of consumers help by making donations at retail outlets nationwide. These efforts culminate in inspirational, memorable evening Walks in nearly two hundred communities each Fall across North America. Light The Night Walk events are evenings filled with inspiration. During this leisurely walk, Champions For Cures carry illuminated balloons – white for survivors, red for supporters and gold in memory of loved ones lost to cancer. Thousands of walkers-men, women and children – form a community of caring, and bring light to the dark world of cancer.
About the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS) is the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. The LLS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS funds livesaving blood cancer research around the world, provides free information and support services, and is the voice for all blood cancer patients seeking access to quality, affordable, coordinated care. Founded in 1949 and headquartered in White Plains, NY, LLS has chapters throughout the United States and Canada. To learn more, visit www.LLS.org.
In response to a community need, Reveille Café developed the Adopt-a-Family program to provide local families with basic household goods and clothing items, as well as toys, books and school supplies, to ensure they too can have a happy holiday season. Additionally, the Reveille Café’s Adopt-a-Family program has helped transition several families into more permanent housing. In partnership with its sister restaurant (J. Christopher’s), Reveille Café, since 2008 more than 48 families have been adopted.
About Adopt-a-Family: Families are selected based on need and circumstance with the help of local schools and Social Services throughout the greater Atlanta region. Many families have undergone some hardship, leaving them without the basics and oftentimes a place to live. To learn more or to get involved, contact email@example.com.
For the past four years, in partnership with its sister restaurant (J. Christopher’s) Reveille Café has been a proud supporter of Make-A-Wish® Georgia. With the support of their compassionate employees and customers, Reveille Café has helped to grant 12 wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses during their commitment to the organization. Some of these include wishes to go to Disney World®, to go on a fishing trip vacation and to have a backyard playset.
About Make-A-Wish Georgia: Founded in 1995, Make-A-Wish Georgia grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. To date, the Georgia chapter has granted over 6,000 wishes to local children. According to a 2011 study of wish impact, most health professionals surveyed say that a wish-come-true can affect a child’s health outcomes. Kids say that wishes give them renewed strength to fight their illness, and their parents say these experiences strengthen the entire family.
The impact that a wish has on a child serves as inspiration for Reveille Café to continue to grant wishes that change the lives of the wish children in our communities. To learn more about getting involved with Make-A-Wish, please visit www.georgia.wish.org.
Stay tuned! We’re cooking up something special for the summer.
And to further reinforce its civic support, military, fire and police personnel receive 50 percent off of their meal when they show their Military ID.
